A large scale development planned by a UK company is now threatening the survivability of this beautiful place.

The British Virgin Islands comprise around sixty semi-tropical Caribbean islands, ranging in size from the largest, Tortola 20 km (approx. 12 mi) long and 5 km (approx. 3 mi) wide, to tiny uninhabited islets. They are located in the Virgin Islands archipelago, a few miles east of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The North Atlantic Ocean lies to the north of the islands, and the Caribbean Sea lies to the south. Most of the islands are volcanic in origin and have a hilly, rugged terrain. Anegada is geologically distinct from the rest of the group and is a flat island composed of limestone and coral.

A long conservation project which was started an almost a decade ago, which cost almost half a billion proof to be extremely beneficial to not only to Elisaria Nnko’s target of protecting both the endangered species if white rhinos and wild dogs at Mkomazi national park, Tanzania.

This “All-in-One” great conservation act not only gave a greater survival chance for these endangered species but also indirectly giving a chance to others living around the area. It’s also reported that other illegal activities such as poaching has been greatly reduced, giving a positive environment for this superb project to flourish now and in the future.

Speaking at a Rotary International District 3230 meeting held here on Sunday, various panellists held forth on different methods of water conservation, in an era where growing demands for water necessitate both storage and careful use.

Strong interest in library preservation is essential as the need for library preservation is greater than ever before.

Personally, I think the future of library preservation is in the area of non-book preservation, particularly the care, protection, and digital delivery of audio, video, motion picture, photographic, graphic, and other visual resources. It is just a starting point, since the literature on library preservation is vast and expanding at a great rate.

A brief history of library preservation is followed by sections including the initial survey; collection management; the enemies of books; environment and preservation; emergency planning and security; bookbinding; paper; special materials; and the care and preservation of motion pictures, sound recordings, and videotape.

Kevin Driedger, a librarian in Michigan is a book enthusiast who teaches fellow librarians on how to repair books and has a blog at http://librarypreservation.blogspot.com/. You may find a great deal of information on library preservation within his blog as he covers a huge range of topic on this matter.
