Personally, I think the future of library preservation is in the area of non-book preservation, particularly the care, protection, and digital delivery of audio, video, motion picture, photographic, graphic, and other visual resources. It is just a starting point, since the literature on library preservation is vast and expanding at a great rate.

A brief history of library preservation is followed by sections including the initial survey; collection management; the enemies of books; environment and preservation; emergency planning and security; bookbinding; paper; special materials; and the care and preservation of motion pictures, sound recordings, and videotape.
